Members: To have your job listed, simply follow the following guidelines:

  1. Use the MASLA Job Listing Form, a .txt file (Windows Notepad), and modify the fields as necessary.  No logos or letterheads, please.
  2. Submit completed forms to: administrator@michiganasla.org.
  3. Submit by the 15th of the month and your job will be posted by the first of the next month for three months.  (Example: submit by June 15 and your job posting will be on michiganasla.org from July 1 – September 30.)
  4. To clear a listing before the three month period is up, please send notice in writing to the Michigan ASLA office via fax or snail mail.
  5. For non-members, submit $75 to the Michigan ASLA office and send your job listing via e-mail.

Assistant Instructor in School of Planning, Design and Construction – MSU – East Lansing, MI

Expected Start Date: August 16, 2013

APPOINTMENT:  Full-time (9 month); Fixed Term (with possibility of reappointment) Position

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from an accredited program (Master of Landscape Architecture from an accredited program preferred).  Applicants must demonstrate broad teaching potential.  Minimum 5 years practice experience and LA licensure preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  This is a position primarily geared toward teaching a wide range of courses in the Landscape Architecture curriculum undergraduate level.  Teaching versatility is of utmost importance as there is an expectation that this individual will be able to fill gaps in our teaching sequence on an as needed basis.  Potential teaching areas for next year are in the fields of construction materials and methods, site engineering, computer applications for construction, site design, site planning, master planning, computer graphics, technology and professional practice.

The successful candidate is expected to teach a full load (3 to 5 courses), and contribute to the overall efforts of the School and University. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the Landscape Architecture Program, however, the potential to crossover to other SPDC disciplines is desirable.
